Troubleshooting Windows Search

So, you are finding that Search is not working very well.  Maybe it’s time to give it a tune-up. Now this is where another of Windows 7’s useful Problem Solvers can help.

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. In the Search box, typesearch problem”.
  3. Search offers a problem solver called “Find and fix problems with Windows Search
  4. ClickFind and fix problems with Windows Search” and the Troubleshooter opens.
  5. In the Troubleshooter window, click Adavanced.

  6. The window then expands showing additional options. Check the box labelled “Apply repairs automatically”.
  7. Then, click the Next button.
  8. In the following window, there are four possible problem solutions to the problen listed under the heading “What problems do you notice?

  9. Check the relevant box, then click the Next button to continue.
  10. The Problem Solver goes to work fixing the problem.

Search should now work the way you want it.
